Shrinking Violet Body Wrap

Pre-Treatment Advice 

Prior to treatment:-

• Do not consume a large meal
• Do not have any other heat treatment in the same 24 hours - ie sunbed. sunbathe
• Do not wax 48 hours or shave 24/48 hours prior to treatment
• Take a warm bath or shower and avoid synthetic soaps, shower gel, lotions or creams
• Keep hydrated

For optimum results we advise the following frequency of treatments:-

• 1st week               2 wraps: 72 hours apart
• 2nd week              3rd wrap
• 3rd week               4th wrap
• 4th week               5th wrap
• 5th week               6th wrap
• next month            1 wrap fortnightly
• monthly                 1 wrap 

Please note if you undertake a course any break between week 1 and 5, will require the course to be repeated.  Please book when you can commit to a 5 week run.

Post Treatment Advice

Following your treatment

• Only light shower the following day after your treatment
• Do not over indulge in alcohol or food
• Keep to a light low fat diet
• Limit caffeine
• Drink plenty of water

Contraindications

If you have any concerns about total or partial contraindications - please discuss with Louise - this does not necessarily mean you cannot have the treatment.  Permission from your GP may need to be obtained and patch test advised. 

Total Contraindications are:-

• soya bean intolerance 
• infectious diseases/skin diseases
• Post-Op - wait 3 months for minor / 6 months for major operations
• Inflammation or swelling where origin is unknown
• Pregnancy
• Breastfeeding
• Cancer (off all treatment and approval from doctor is required)
• Epilepsy - where smell might trigger an attack
• Miscarriage/Termination - wait minimum 6 weeks, preferably 12, this allows hormones to settle down
• Phlebitis & deep vein thrombosis
• Sunburn/wind burn
• Claustrophobia - please talk to therapist

Partial Contraindications are:-

• Varicose veins
• cuts and abrasions
• Diabetes (oral & diet are fine), Insulin Dependent - GP referral/approval required
• High blood pressure/Hypertension - if stable and on medication ok, if unstable - NO
• Thyroid problems - inch loss may be slower
• Lymph gland removal - advise therapist (no solution applied to area)
• Asthmatics - please bring your inhalers with you 

Patch Testing

If you have particularly sensitive skin, it is advisable to come in to have a patch test at least 24 to 48 hours prior to your treatment.  If you are allergic to soya beans, or any of the ingredients listed above, a patch test is essential.
